Christine U’Ren 

Christine U’Ren began her playwriting career with weekly radio dramas at KALX in Berkeley. She has worked with Bay Area theater groups, often as a costume and graphic designer, since 2001. Her full-length plays, Improper Ambitions, about two famous women artists in France, and Lady Susan, an adaptation of the early Jane Austen novel, were produced by Bella Union Theatre Company. Her adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was performed at the historic Avalon Theatre in Easton, MD. She has also written nonfiction essays for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival blog, Hogan’s Alley magazine, and The Olympian
